Ethics of Pandemic Response

I led the American Medical Association’s Journal of Ethics theme issue, “Culture, Context, and Epidemic Containment”, published in January 2020. As the editor of this series, I brought together a number of experts in pandemic response. We focused on Ebola, pandemic flu, and included contributions from disciplines as diverse as anthropology, law, medicine, journalism, epidemiology, and more. Stopping pandemics requires actors from every single field of work. We are seeing that now with COVID19 as well.
